    Dessert in a glass

Want to feel like you’re out at a trash Vegas casino living it up? Then forget the traditional cakes or cookies for dessert and make this creamy Frozen Mudslide instead! Made without ice cream, it’s blended with ice and liqueur to still create a refreshing and smooth cocktail that isn’t overly rich or boozy.

All you need are four simple ingredients. Blend them up and in seconds, you have a sweet treat you can sip on for dessert. It’s like a boozy adult chocolate milkshake but without the ice cream.

Just like a frozen mimosa or margarita, the smooth texture and bold flavors in this homemade frozen mudslide are outrageously good and guaranteed to impress your friends. Top each glass with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings and you’re ready to sip the day away!

    Four ingredient frozen cocktail

No need to run to the grocery store! All you need are three different kinds of alcohol and some ice to make this frozen mudslide cocktail:

    Vodka

Save the high-end vodka for martinis! The two liqueurs in this recipe will take over in the flavor department, meaning you can get away with using a low or mid-priced vodka. If you want to add extra flavor and sweetness, go ahead and use vanilla or whipped cream flavored vodka instead.

bottles of baileys, vodka, and coffee liqueur

    Coffee liqueur

A little coffee liqueur, like Kahlua, gives your Kahlua mudslide cocktail a touch of caffeine, rich chocolatey flavors, and a smooth texture. There are plenty of coffee liqueur brands out there, I like Mr. Black cold brew liqueur, so feel free to explore your options!

    Irish cream liqueur

I chose to use Bailey’s in my mudslide but you can use any kind you love or have at home. Don’t feel like you need to settle for plain cream liqueur here! Experiment with the flavors and use salted caramel, espresso, almond milk, or chocolate cherry-flavored Bailey’s instead.

    Ice

Make sure it’s fresh! Nobody likes the flavor of the ice from the back of your freezer.

How to make a homemade frozen mudslide

This easy dessert cocktail takes minutes to blend together. Perfect for right after dinner or when you’re craving a boozy sweet treat:

    Tips and tricks

There are a few additions you can make to a Frozen Mudslide Without Ice Cream to give it an impressive presentation or when you want to make it just right. Follow these tips and tricks when making your frozen mudslides:

    Make it fun!

Just like a milkshake, you can add lots of fun toppings to your mudslides. Drizzle chocolate syrup inside each glass and top them off with whipped cream. To finish, add some treats on top, like:

    • Maraschino cherries
    • Cocoa powder
    • Chocolate or rainbow sprinkles
    • Shaved chocolate
    • Crumbled brownies or shortbread cookies
    • Caramel sauce
3 glasses with blended chocolate drinks next to a white bowl of chocolate shavings

    Equipment needed

I always recommend making a frozen blended cocktail in a high-powered blender, like a Vitamix, so everything blends together quickly and smoothly. If you don’t have one, you can use a regular blender and just blend it for longer.

Mudslides look great when served in a hurricane glass or a wide, tall glass. Finish it with a colorful paper or metal straw and sip away!

    It's time to blend!

Okay, friend! It's your turn to blend up a batch of these mudslides.

I bartended in Pensacola, FL and Ocean Springs , MS for a few years. Our Recipe:

      Lots of Ice
      2 oz Kalluah
      2 oz Baily's Irish Cream
      2 oz Amaretto
Blend in blender until it's a slushy.

Just another variation. But they are a bit addictive. 😉.
