The best summer pitcher cocktail with a twist!

Do you think pomegranate juice is only meant for winter and holiday drinks? No way! It may taste wonderful in an Orange Pomegranate Sparkling Cocktail but it’s just as refreshing in this summery Pomegranate Lemonade with Vodka Pitcher Cocktail.

Not only does this summer cocktail make enough to serve a crowd, like many of my other vodka recipes, but it also has all of the flavors you crave during the hot and sunny months. Slightly sweet, bright, refreshing… Every sip is more cooling than the last!

You’ll have an easy time putting it together, too. All you need to do is layer the 4 simple ingredients in a pitcher with ice, add a few lemon slices for garnish, then serve to your guests. It’s the grown-up lemonade of your dreams and is going to be a hit with your friends, just like it is with mine!

    Ingredients you need

Bright notes of citrus are on display in every sip of this pomegranate vodka cocktail all thanks to a handful of simple ingredients:

    Lemonade

A must for this elevated lemonade cocktail! Store-bought lemonade is a quick and easy solution for when you don’t feel like making homemade lemonade. I like Simply brand lemonade but you can use any available brand.

If you want to go the homemade route, make my 3 ingredient lemonade recipe using only the sugar, water, and lemon juice.

    Pro Tip!

    • Chill the ingredients!
    • I highly recommend keeping all of the ingredients in the fridge before you stir them together in the pitcher. This way, the drink can stay ice cold and won’t melt the ice as quickly.
    • If you forgot to chill the ingredients, simply put the cocktail together in the pitcher without ice, then place it in the fridge until it’s time to serve.

    Pomegranate juice

If you think that pomegranate juice can only be used to make winter drinks or a Christmas punch, think again. Its tart and fruity flavors just happen to pair perfectly with citrus, making it a wonderful addition to many cocktails made with lemon and lime.

Pomegranates are in season from September to November. Unless you’re serving a pitcher of pomegranate lemonade during these months, I recommend making the recipe with store-bought pomegranate juice, like Pom.

From left to right, a bottle of pomegranate juice, a Tito's vodka bottle, a bottle of lemonade, and lemon halves in a row.

    Vodka

Lemonade and vodka are a great match. The tart and sweet flavors from the lemonade can shine through because of the vodka’s mild, neutral flavor.

No need to go all out and buy an expensive brand, either. The flavor of the vodka is hidden, which means you can use a low to mid-priced brand here.

    Lemon juice

Freshly squeezed lemon juice is needed to balance the rest of the cocktail and cut through the sweetness. Try to squeeze the juice from the lemons yourself using a citrus reamer. Bottled lemon juice also works in a pinch!

How to make pomegranate lemonade with vodka

Follow these step-by-step instructions to make a large batch of pink lemonade with vodka:

An orange colored citrus juicer squeezing lemon juice into a glass pyrex measuring cup.
Step 1: Grab your lemons and give them a good squeeze to get all of that juice!
A large pitcher filled with a red colored liquid and ice being stirred with a cocktail spoon.
Step 2: Take all of your ingredients, add them to a large pitcher and stir well!
A pitcher with a red colored beverage being poured into a glass with ice and pomegranate seeds as garnish.
Step 3: Pour over ice and garnish!
