A couple weekends ago I attended my first blogging conference, which was amazing! Well, it was actually a blogger camp, which I will get to later.
Yeah, I know, I just started blogging literally two posts ago. I was planning on starting my blog in March, which is when I registered for the event, so there was a plan in place originally.
At the camp, it didn’t matter that I am a new blogger, everyone was super nice and welcoming, I learned a ton about blogging, and ate a lot of butter 😉
Like I said previously, the conference was actually a camp for food and recipe bloggers called Camp Blogaway. It took place in the beautiful Southern California Mountains at a camp with cabins, a lodge, and fun times. The weather was great, the nice cool breeze was lovely (compared to the heat wave we were having in Los Angeles) and the people I met were amazing.
There were a ton of food bloggers (obviously) and some culinary industry professionals (food stylists and photographers for example). I connected with many cool bloggers at the camp. Some who I now have their blogs in my feedly, and even opened some opportunities for work! It was great for networking and making some great connections.
Aside from meeting awesome people, there were some great speakers who had tons of information to share. My favorite was definitely the session on new ideas to liven up your blog. We learned things like adding a culinary bucket list or categorizing recipes by seasonality. I loved most the ideas and I definitely plan on adding some of them here!
To sum it all up, I met new people, had a nice relaxing time in the mountains and learned a bunch. I’d say that it was a fairly successful weekend and I can’t wait to go again next year!
